유전자 개요
GAB1 유전자는 IRS1 계열 다중 기질 도킹 단백질(multisubstrate docking protein) 계열의 구성원을 암호화한다. 이 단백질은 세포 성장 반응, 변형, 그리고 세포자멸사(apoptosis)에 중심적인 역할을 하며, 가지형 세관 형성(branching tubulogenesis)의 중요한 매개체이다. 이 유전자에 대해 서로 다른 아이소폼(isoform)을 암호화하는 두 개의 전사 변이체(transcript variant)가 발견되었다.
