유전자 개요
FZD4 유전자는 프리즐(frizzled) 유전자 계열의 구성원이다. 이 계열의 유전자들은 윙리스(Wingless) 타입 MMTV 통합 부위 신호 단백질 계열에 대한 수용체인 7회 막 통과 도메인 단백질을 암호화한다. 대부분의 프리즐 수용체는 베타-카테닌(beta-catenin) 고전 신호 전달 경로에 연결된다. 이 단백질은 윙리스 타입 MMTV 통합 부위 신호 전달 경로의 양성 조절자 역할을 할 수 있다. 일부 전사체 변이가인트론 서열을 유지하고 더 짧은 아이소폼(isoform)을 암호화하는 것으로 기술되었으나, 다른 실험적 증거로는 그 발현이 지지되지 않는다.
