유전자 개요
이 유전자는 필라민(filamin) 단백질군의 구성원을 암호화한다. 암호화된 단백질은 혈관 손상 복구 과정의 일환으로 당단백질 Ib 알파(glycoprotein Ib alpha)와 상호작용하며, 혈소판 당단백질 Ib 복합체(platelet glycoprotein Ib complex)는 당단백질 Ib 알파를 포함하여 액틴 세포골격(actin cytoskeleton)에 결합한다. 이 유전자의 돌연변이는 아텔로골형성증(atelosteogenesis) 1형 및 3형, 부메랑 이형성증(boomerang dysplasia), 상염색체 우성 라르센 증후군(autosomal dominant Larsen syndrome), 척추수근족근골유합 증후군(spondylocarpotarsal synostosis syndrome) 등 여러 질환에서 발견되었으며, 서로 다른 단백질 아이소폼(isoform)을 암호화하는 다수의 선택적 스플라이싱(alternative splicing) 전사체 변이체가 보고되어 있다.
