유전자 개요
FGF14 유전자는 섬유아세포 성장 인자 (fibroblast growth factor, FGF) 계열 단백질을 암호화한다. FGF 계열 구성원들은 광범위한 세포 증식 및 생존 활성을 나타내며, 배아 발달, 세포 성장, 형태 형성, 조직 복구, 종양 성장 및 침습을 포함한 다양한 생물학적 과정에 관여한다. 이 유전자의 돌연변이는 상염색체 우성 유전성 운동실조와 관련이 있다. 이 유전자의 대안적 스플라이싱 전사체 변이체들이 발견되었다.
