유전자 개요

이 유전자의 산물은 피콜린(ficolin) 단백질 계열에 속한다. 이 계열은 펩타이드(peptide) 리더 서열, 짧은 N-말단 부분, 콜라겐 유사 영역, 그리고 C-말단 피브리노겐 유사 도메인(fibrinogen-like domain)으로 특징지어진다. 간에서 주로 발현되는 이 유전자는 탄수화물 결합 및 옵소닌(opsonic) 활성을 가진 것으로 나타났다. 다른 아이소폼(isoform)을 암호화하는 대체 스플라이싱 전사체 변이체들이 확인되었다.
