유전자 개요
이 유전자는 단백질-티로신 키나아제(protein-tyrosine kinase) 계열의 에프린 수용체(ephrin receptor) 서브패밀리(subfamily)에 속한다. EPH 및 EPH 관련 수용체는 신경계와 같은 발달 과정 중재에 관여하는 것으로 알려졌다. EPH 서브패밀리(subfamily) 수용체는 일반적으로 단일 키나아제 도메인과 시스테인 풍부 도메인(Cys-rich domain) 및 두 개의 피브로넥틴 타입 III 반복(fibronectin type III repeats)을 포함하는 세포외 영역을 가진다. 에프린 수용체는 세포외 도메인 서열 유사성과 에프린-A 및 에프린-B 리간드 결합 친화성에 따라 두 그룹으로 나뉜다. 이 유전자는 일부 인간 암(cancer) 세포주에서 발현되며 발암 과정에 관여하는 것으로 보인다.
