이 유전자는 사이클로스포린 결합 단백질(cyclosporine-binding protein)을 암호화하며, 주로 소포체(endoplasmic reticulum) 내에 존재합니다. 이 단백질은 분비 경로와 연관되어 생물학적 체액으로 방출되며, T세포 및 B세포에서 유래한 세포에 결합할 수 있습니다. 또한 사이클로스포린 A 매개 면역억제 작용을 조절할 수 있습니다. 이 단백질의 변이는 열성 골형성부전증(osteogenesis imperfecta)을 유발하는 것으로 확인되었습니다.
