유전자 개요
이 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 미성숙한 수지상 세포와 혈액 단핵구를 폐로 유인하는 점막 케모카인(mucosal chemokine)입니다. 또한, 이 단백질은 혈관신생 활성(angiogenic activity)을 통해 종양 형성을 촉진합니다. 마지막으로, 이 단백질은 대장균(E. coli), 황색포도상구균(S. aureus), 살모넬라(Salmonella), 녹농균(P. aeruginosa), 칸디다 균(C. albicans)에 대해 강력한 항균 활성을 나타냅니다. 이 유전자에는 단백질을 암호화하는 전사체 변이체와 단백질을 암호화하지 않는 전사체 변이체, 두 가지 종류가 발견되었습니다.
