유전자 개요
이 유전자는 레티노산(RA, 비타민 A의 한 형태) 결합 단백질과 리포칼린/세포질 지방산 결합 단백질 계열 구성원을 암호화한다. 이 단백질은 RA가 해당 수용체 복합체에 결합하고 세포핵으로 이동하는 것을 촉진하는 세포질-세포핵 셔틀 단백질이다. 이 유전자는 레티노이드 신호 전달 경로에 관여하며, 순환하는 저밀도 지질단백질(low-density lipoprotein) 콜레스테롤 증가와 관련이 있다. 이 유전자에 대해 동일한 단백질을 암호화하는 대체 스플라이싱 전사체 변이체들이 발견되었다. (RefSeq 제공, 2010년 12월)
