유전자 개요

이 유전자는 아연 금속 단백질분해효소(zinc metalloprotease)인 카복시펩티다제 A 계열 단백질을 암호화합니다. 암호화된 전구단백질은 단백질 분해 과정을 거쳐 성숙한 단백질분해효소로 생성되며, 비만 세포(mast cells)에 의해 방출되어 내인성 단백질 분해 및 독 관련 펩타이드 불활성화에 관여할 수 있습니다. 이 유전자의 발현은 인간 천식(asthma) 환자에서 증가할 수 있습니다.
