유전자 개요
CPA1 유전자는 아연 금속 단백질분해효소(zinc metalloprotease) 계열인 카복시펩티다제 A(carboxypeptidase A) 패밀리의 구성원을 암호화한다. 이 효소는 췌장에서 생성되며, 식이 단백질에서 꼬리 쪽의 가지 사슬 아미노산과 방향족 아미노산을 우선적으로 가수분해한다. 이 유전자와 다른 몇몇 패밀리 구성원은 7번 염색체의 유전자 집단에 존재한다. 이 유전자의 돌연변이는 만성 췌장염과 연관될 수 있으며, 단백질 수치가 상승하면 췌장암과 관련될 수 있다.
