유전자 개요
이 유전자는 다양한 조절 경로에서 기능하는 단백질을 암호화한다. 암호화된 단백질은 여러 세포질 단백질(cytosolic proteins)과 복합체를 형성하며, 작은 핵 리보뉴클레오단백질(small nuclear ribonucleoprotein) 생합성 조절, 혈소판(platelet) 활성화, 세포골격(cytoskeletal) 조직화 등 다양한 기능을 수행한다. 이 단백질은 세포막(plasma membrane)과도 연관되어 염화물 전류 조절제(chloride current regulator)로 기능한다. 이 유전자의 유사 위유전자(pseudogenes)는 염색체 1, 4, 6번에서 발견된다. 다양한 아이소폼(isoforms)을 암호화하는 여러 전사체 변이체(transcript variants)가 이 유전자에서 발견되었다.
