유전자 개요
이 유전자는 사이클린 의존성 단백질 키나아제(CDK) 계열에 속하는 단백질을 암호화한다. 이 키나아제는 RNA 중합효소 II를 매개하는 전사의 신장 인자인 다단백질 복합체 TAK/P-TEFb의 구성 요소로 밝혀졌으며, RNA 중합효소 II의 가장 큰 소단위체 C-말단 도메인의 인산화를 통해 기능한다. 이 단백질은 조절 소단위체인 사이클린 T 또는 사이클린 K와 복합체를 형성하고 이들에 의해 조절된다. HIV-1 Tat 단백질은 이 단백질 및 사이클린 T와 상호작용하는 것으로 밝혀져 AIDS에서의 관여 가능성이 시사되었다.
