유전자 개요

CD274는 T 세포와 B 세포 등 조혈·비조혈 세포와 여러 종양(tumor) 세포에서 발현되는 면역 억제 수용체(receptor) 리간드(ligand)를 암호화하며, 그 산물은 면역글로불린(immunoglobulin) V-유사 및 C-유사 도메인을 지닌 I형 막관통 단백질이다. 이 리간드가 수용체와 결합하면 T 세포 활성화와 사이토카인(cytokine) 생성이 억제되는데, 정상 조직의 감염·염증(inflammation) 상황에서는 면역 반응의 항상성을 유지해 자가면역을 막는 데 기여한다. 반면 종양 미세환경에서는 세포독성 T 세포를 불활성화시켜 종양 세포의 면역 회피를 돕고, 결장암과 신세포 암종(renal cell carcinoma)을 비롯한 여러 인체 악성종양에서 종양 세포 내 발현은 예후 인자로 간주된다.
