유전자 개요

CCR1은 베타 케모카인(beta chemokine) 수용체 계열의 한 구성원을 암호화하며, G 단백질 연결 수용체(G protein-coupled receptor)와 유사한 7회 막관통(seven-transmembrane) 단백질로 예측된다. 이 수용체의 리간드로는 대식세포 염증 단백질 1알파(MIP-1 alpha), RANTES, 단핵구 화학주성 단백질 3(MCP-3), 골수전구세포 억제인자-1(MPIF-1)이 있으며, 케모카인과 그 수용체가 매개하는 신호 전달은 효과기 면역세포를 염증 부위로 동원하는 데 핵심적이다. 마우스 상동체(homolog)의 녹아웃 연구는 CCR1이 염증 반응으로부터의 숙주 보호와 바이러스 및 기생충 감수성에 관여함을 시사했으며, 이 유전자는 CCR2, CCRL2, CCR3, CCR5, CCXCR1 등 다른 케모카인 수용체 유전자와 함께 염색체 3p에 유전자 클러스터를 형성한다.
