유전자 개요
CCL24는 작은 사이토카인(cytokine) CC 유전자 소군에 속한다. 이 유전자에 의해 암호화되는 사이토카인은 정지 T 림프구(T lymphocyte)에 대해 화학주성 활성을, 호중구(neutrophil)에는 미미한 활성을 보이며, 단핵구(monocyte)와 활성화 T 림프구에서는 활성이 없다. 이 단백질은 또한 S. pneumoniae, S. aureus, Non-typeable H. influenzae, P. aeruginosa에 대해 항균제(antibacterial) 효과를 나타내는 항미생물(antimicrobial) 활성을 가지며, 다능성 조혈 전구세포주의 집락 형성을 강하게 억제한다.
