유전자 개요
이 유전자는 작은 사이토카인(cytokine) CC 유전자 서브패밀리(subfamily)에 속하는 항균 유전자이다. 사이토카인은 면역 조절 및 염증 과정에 관여하는 분비 단백질 군이다. CC 사이토카인은 두 개의 인접한 시스테인(cysteine)을 특징으로 하는 단백질이다. 이 유전자에 의해 암호화된 단백질은 림프구에 대한 화학주성 활성을 나타내며 골수 전구체의 증식을 억제할 수 있다. 이 유전자에 대해 서로 다른 아이소폼(isoform)을 암호화하는 두 개의 전사체 변이체(transcript variant)가 발견되었다.
