이 유전자는 케모카인(C-C 모티프) 리간드 14(chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 14)으로, 17번 염색체 긴 팔 11.2 부위에 군집된 여러 CC 사이토카인(cytokine) 유전자 중 하나입니다. CC 사이토카인은 두 개의 인접한 시스테인(cysteine)이 특징인 분비 단백질입니다. 해당 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 단핵구(monocyte)에서 세포 내 칼슘 농도 변화와 효소(enzyme) 방출을 유도합니다.
