유전자 개요

BLNK 유전자는 B 세포 발달에 중요한 역할을 하는 세포질 연결(linker) 또는 어댑터(adaptor) 단백질을 암호화한다. 이 단백질은 B 세포 수용체 관련 키나아제(kinase)의 활성화와 하위 신호전달 경로를 연결하며, B 세포 수용체 활성화 후 다섯 개의 타이로신(tyrosine) 잔기의 인산화가 특정 신호 전달 효과인자(effector) 복합체 형성에 필수적이다. 이 유전자의 돌연변이는 저감마글로불린혈증(hypoglobulinemia) 및 B 세포 결여를 유발하며, 이 질환에서는 전구-B 세포(pro-B cell)에서 전-B 세포(pre-B cell)로의 전환이 발달 과정에서 차단된다. 또한 일부 전-B 급성 림프모구 백혈병(pre-B acute lymphoblastic leukemia) 사례에서 이 단백질의 결핍이 보고되었으며, 선택적 스플라이싱(alternative splicing)에 의한 전사체 변이체도 존재한다.
