유전자 개요
BLK 유전자는 세포 증식 및 분화에 관여하는 원종양유전자(proto-oncogene) 중 src 계열의 비수용체 티로신 키나아제(nonreceptor tyrosine-kinase)를 암호화한다. 이 단백질은 B세포 수용체(B-cell receptor) 신호 전달 및 B세포 발달에 관여한다. 또한, 이 단백질은 포도당에 반응하여 췌장 베타세포(pancreatic beta-cell) 전사 인자(transcription factor)들의 발현을 증가시키며 인슐린 합성 및 분비를 촉진한다.
