유전자 개요
이 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 징크핑거 전사인자(zinc finger transcription factor)로, N-말단 POZ 도메인을 포함합니다. 이 단백질은 서열 특이적 전사 억제자(repressor of transcription)로 작용하며, B세포의 STAT 의존적 IL-4 반응의 전사를 조절하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 또한 전사 공동억제자(transcription corepressors)로 기능하는 다양한 POZ 도메인 포함 단백질과 상호작용할 수 있습니다. 이 유전자는 미만성 거대 B세포 림프종(diffuse large-cell lymphoma, DLCL)에서 빈번한 전좌(translocation) 및 고변이(hypermutation)가 발견되며, DLCL의 병인에 관여할 수 있습니다. 이 유전자에 대해 다른 단백질 아이소폼(isoform)을 암호화하는 대체 스플라이싱 전사체 변이체(alternatively spliced transcript variants)가 발견되었습니다.
