유전자 개요

이 유전자는 세포 주기 조절 키나아제(kinase)를 암호화하며, 염색체 분리 시 방추사 극체에서의 미세소관(microtubule) 형성 및/또는 안정화에 관여하는 것으로 보입니다. 이 단백질은 간기 세포에서는 중심체(centrosome)에, 유사분열(mitosis) 시기에는 방추사 극체에 위치합니다. 또한, 이 유전자는 종양(tumor) 발생 및 진행에 역할을 할 수 있습니다. 이 유전자의 가공된 유사유전자가 염색체 1번에서, 비가공 유사유전자가 염색체 10번에서 발견되었습니다. 동일한 단백질을 암호화하는 여러 전사 변이가 이 유전자에서 발견되었습니다.
