유전자 개요

ATF3는 포유류 활성화 전사인자/cAMP 반응요소 결합(CREB) 단백질 계열에 속하는 전사인자(transcription factor)를 암호화한다. 암(cancer)세포가 마주하는 신호를 비롯한 다양한 신호에 의해 유도되며, 세포 스트레스 반응(cellular stress response)이라는 복잡한 과정에 관여한다. 서로 다른 아이소폼(isoform)을 만드는 여러 전사체 변이가 보고되었으며, 대체 스플라이싱(alternative splicing)이 표적 유전자 조절에서 생리적으로 중요할 가능성이 있다.
