유전자 개요

이 유전자는 사람의 액틴 관련 단백질 2/3 (Arp2/3) 복합체를 구성하는 7개 소단위 중 하나를 지정한다. Arp2/3 복합체는 세포 내 액틴 중합(actin polymerization) 조절에 관여하며 진화적으로 보존되어 왔다. 이 유전자가 지정하는 단백질, 즉 p34 소단위의 정확한 역할은 아직 밝혀지지 않았다. 현재까지 두 개의 대체 스플라이싱 변이체(alternatively spliced variants)가 확인되었다.
