Rho 또는 ARH 단백질 계열(MIM 165390 참조)과 다른 Ras 관련 소형 GTP 결합 단백질(MIM 179520 참조)은 세포 신호 전달, 증식, 세포 골격 조직화, 분비 등 다양한 세포 이벤트에 관여합니다. GTP 결합 단백질은 GTP 결합 상태에서만 활성화됩니다. GTPase-activating proteins(GAPs), guanine nucleotide-releasing factors(GRFs), GDP-dissociation inhibitors(GDIs)의 세 가지 단백질 계열이 GTP 결합 상태와 GDP 결합 상태 간의 순환을 엄격하게 조절합니다. ARHGDIB를 포함하는 GDI는 Ras 유사 GTPase로부터 GDP 해리 속도를 감소시킵니다(Scherle et al., 1993 [PubMed 8356058] 요약).
