유전자 개요
이 유전자는 GTPase-activating protein(GTPase 활성 단백질)을 암호화한다. 이 단백질은 골지체(Golgi apparatus)와 연관되며 ADP-ribosylation factor 1과 상호작용한다. 암호화된 단백질은 ADP-ribosylation factor 1 결합 GTP의 가수분해를 촉진하며, 골지체 유래 막과 소포에서 코트 단백질의 해리에 필요하다. 이러한 소포가 표적 구획과 융합하기 위해서는 코트 단백질의 해리가 요구된다. 이 단백질의 활성은 포스포이노시타이드에 의해 촉진되고 포스파티딜콜린에 의해 억제된다. 대체 스플라이싱은 여러 전사 변이체를 생성한다.
