아데닌 포스포리보실트랜스퍼라제(Adenine phosphoribosyltransferase)는 퓨린/피리미딘 포스포리보실트랜스퍼라제(purine/pyrimidine phosphoribosyltransferase) 과에 속합니다. 이 유전자의 보존된 특징은 CpG 이중염기서열(CpG dinucleotides)의 분포입니다. 이 효소는 아데닌과 5-포스포리보실-1-피로포스페이트(5-phosphoribosyl-1-pyrophosphate, PRPP)로부터 AMP와 무기 피로인산염(inorganic pyrophosphate)의 형성을 촉매합니다. 또한 폴리아민 생합성 경로(polyamine biosynthesis pathway)의 부산물로 아데닌을 생성합니다. 이 효소의 동형접합 결핍(homozygous deficiency)은 2,8-다이하이드록시아데닌 요석증(2,8-dihydroxyadenine urolithiasis)을 유발합니다. 두 개의 전사체 변이체(transcript variants)가 서로 다른 아이소폼(isoforms)을 암호화하는 것으로 이 유전자에서 발견되었습니다.
