ANXA2(ANXA2)는 안넥신(annexin) 가족의 일원을 암호화한다. 이 칼슘 의존성 인지질결합단백질 가족은 세포 성장 조절과 신호전달 경로에 관여하며, 본 단백질은 자분비 인자(autocrine factor)로 작용해 파골세포(osteoclast) 형성과 골흡수(bone resorption)를 촉진한다. 이 유전자에는 염색체(chromosome) 4, 9, 10에 각각 세 개의 위유전자(pseudogene)가 있고, 여러 선택적 스플라이싱 전사체 변이체(transcript variants)가 발견되어 서로 다른 아이소폼(isoform)을 생성하며, 안넥신 A2의 발현은 다양한 암(cancer) 치료 저항과 상관관계가 있다.
