유전자 개요

AKT2는 SH2 유사(SH2-like, Src homology 2-like) 도메인을 가진 세린/트레오닌 인산화효소(serine/threonine kinase) 서브패밀리(subfamily)에 속하는 단백질을 암호화하는 추정 종양유전자(putative oncogene)로, 세포 내 신호전달 경로에 관여한다. 암세포의 종양형성 과정에서 종양유전자로 작용하며, 일례로 과발현은 인간 췌관 췌장암(ductal pancreatic cancer)의 일부에서 악성(malignant) 표현형에 기여한다. 암호화된 단백질은 여러 알려진 단백질을 인산화할 수 있는 범용 인산화효소이며, 인슐린 신호전달에도 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있다.
