유전자 개요
AGR2 유전자는 소포체(endoplasmic reticulum) 단백질인 디설파이드 이성질체효소(disulfide isomerase, PDI) 계열의 구성원을 암호화한다. 이 단백질은 단백질 접힘 및 티올-이황화물 교환 반응을 촉매한다. AGR2 단백질은 N-말단 소포체 신호 서열, 촉매 활성이 있는 티오레독신 도메인, 그리고 C-말단 소포체 잔류 서열을 가진다. 또한 세포 이동, 세포 변환, 전이(metastasis)에 관여하며 p53 저해제(inhibitor) 역할을 한다. 소포체에 국한된 분자 샤페론으로서, 이는 황 함유 막 관통 수용체와 황 함유 장선(intestinal) 점액당단백질(mucin)의 접힘, 수송, 조립에 역할을 한다. 이 유전자는 염증성 장 질환 및 암(cancer) 진행과 관련이 있다.
