유전자 개요
이 유전자는 액티빈 A 타입 IIB 수용체(activin A type IIB receptor)를 암호화한다. 이 수용체는 액티빈 A 타입 II 수용체보다 리간드(ligand)에 대해 3~4배 더 높은 친화도를 보인다. 액티빈은 구조적으로 관련된 신호 전달 단백질인 형질전환 성장인자-베타(transforming growth factor-beta, TGF-beta) 계열에 속하는 이량체(dimeric) 성장인자(growth factor) 및 분화 인자이다. 이들은 적어도 두 종류의 타입 I (I 및 IB)과 두 종류의 타입 II (II 및 IIB) 수용체를 포함하는 수용체 세린 키나아제(receptor serine kinase)의 이종복합체(heteromeric complex)를 통해 신호 전달한다.
