유전자 개요
ACTN3 유전자는 알파-액틴 결합 단백질(alpha-actin binding protein) 유전자 계열 구성원을 암호화한다. 이 유전자의 산물은 주로 골격근에 발현되며, 근절(sarcomeric Z line)의 구조적 구성 요소로 기능한다. 또한, 액틴을 포함하는 가는 필라멘트(thin filament)의 교차 결합에 관여한다. 이 유전자의 대립유전자 다형성(allelic polymorphism)은 코딩 및 비코딩 변이를 모두 초래하며, 참조 게놈은 코딩 대립유전자를 나타낸다. 기능하지 않는 대립유전자는 엘리트 운동선수 상태와 관련이 있다.
